Before Miter, everything was a manual process. Everything was difficult. I want to call it “payroll fatigue.”
Tayler Kirsch
It was an organized disorganized process. It took up a lot of my time working in Excel and not having one software that both accounting and HR worked out of.

Kaufman Lynn Construction was established in 1989. Half of our work is multi-family residential, and the other half is municipal work. Over the last 10 years since I joined, we’ve averaged 25% annual growth. We run about 200 employees, plus or minus. Currently we are the fourth or fifth largest contractor in South Florida, and we are 232 on the ENR 400.
We use almost everything out of Miter. It lets us divide the duties a lot better. HR does the onboarding, accounting does the payroll processing, so it is way better for internal control and it spreads the word.

Once we got Miter, doors opened, rainbows were in the sky, everything made sense. We streamlined all of our HR processes. We had one central source of data, which also in turn helped us ensure compliance.

Tax reporting is big for me. Miter does the 941s, the quarterly returns. I just have to review them. I don’t have to prepare them, and they’re always accurate, always on time. Time sheets are done with people actually looking at them instead of just rubber stamping them. It’s a much better process.
Tayler Kirsch
The fact that I don’t have to spend time doing VLOOKUPs in Excel anymore or running three different reports and combining them into one makes life much easier, it saves me time, and the whole team is much more efficient because of Miter.

Tobin and his team spent a ton of time with us, taught us how the system works. We felt that they were there helping us along the way instead of trying to sell us something.
Tayler Kirsch
We never even had to reach out if we had any questions because we were in constant communication with the Miter team. They ensured that everything was working smoothly; they held our hands for our first payroll run and even still now are there for us at all times.

Is the confetti.
Tayler Kirsch
Is the exciting confetti.

Once we finished the process, and once I pushed the button to actually pay people, confetti falls on your screen and it’s just like a celebration that, ‘hey, we got it done, we did it again.’
The most impactful part about Miter has been our time savings throughout the company: HR, the onboarding process, project accountants, the field people. They’ve gotten some time back in their day to be able to do their jobs better. It’s a game changer for us.
Tayler Kirsch
I would recommend Miter to anybody who likes efficiency, who wants to save time, who wants technology that’s flexible and changing and constantly updating.

It’s a challenge to change to any accounting system or payroll system. The Miter folks really helped us in that transition. And again, it was a great choice.
