Celebrating 1,000 Contractors on Miter

This month, we crossed an exciting milestone: more than 1,000 contractors across the U.S. now run their teams on Miter.

In the four years since launch, Miter has processed $4 billion in payroll and delivered 2 million paychecks directly into the hands of the people building our world.

We started Miter to make construction faster, smarter, and more efficient — to give contractors modern tools built for how they actually work. The response has been incredible. Contractors across every trade are adopting Miter, and our 3x annual growth reflects just how much this matters. We couldn’t be more grateful to the customers driving this movement forward.

Built for how construction actually works

Before Miter, contractors had to choose between generic systems that didn’t understand construction or legacy systems that didn’t integrate and adapt to modern ways of working. So we built something different — a modern, cloud platform designed around how construction businesses really operate.

From the beginning, we believed contractors deserved better than clunky systems designed decades ago. We spend time on jobsites, understand how teams work, and learn their workflows and pain points. Then we build intuitive solutions that help them build better.

Real impact for real contractors

This approach is delivering measurable results:

Time savings

To date, Miter has saved construction teams millions of hours once lost to manual, repetitive work. From timecard processing to compliance tracking, tasks that used to take hours now happen in minutes, freeing teams to focus on the projects that actually move their business forward.

CVE, California’s largest abatement and demolition contractor, saves more than 2,600 hours of administrative work each year after switching to Miter. They streamlined payroll, simplified prevailing wage and union reporting, and empowered their field teams with tools that just work.

Increase in revenue

By automating and streamlining processes, Miter users are able to take on more work without adding headcount. Teams have been able to take on more work while reducing administrative overhead. That’s money going directly to their bottom line or toward growth.

Adams Plumbing, a fast-growing national plumbing company, is now managing 8–10 jobs at a time with the same staff that once handled only 2–3. Miter has given their team the confidence to take on larger, more complex projects. As a result, their average contract size has increased more than tenfold, from $40,000 to $500,000 per job.

Efficient growth

As contractors grow, scaling the back office can become a major bottleneck. Miter helps teams grow faster without growing overhead. By connecting payroll, HR, time tracking, expenses, and compliance in one system, Miter gives contractors the structure and automation they need to scale confidently.

Hays Electrical Services is a perfect example. The Houston-based commercial electrical contractor has grown from 100 to more than 900 employees — all supported by a payroll team of just two. With Miter, they’ve automated payroll, per diems, reimbursements, and compliance reporting across projects in 20+ states. “If we were doing payroll manually, there’s no way we could handle the volume of work we do today,” says Hassan Tabatabayee, Vice President of Financial Analysis & Planning. “With a little more automation, we can add hundreds more employees without expanding our back office.”

And they’re not alone. Across the country, contractors using Miter are seeing the same results: unlocked capacity, efficient growth, and less time lost to paperwork.

Solving real problems

Every feature we build starts with a specific problem we heard directly from contractors. Why couldn’t project managers see real-time labor costs across all their jobs? Why did payroll processing take days instead of hours? Why were superintendents still tracking certifications in spreadsheets?

By tackling these questions, we’ve helped contractors achieve automated compliance, real-time job cost visibility, and simplified payroll.

When Marathon Electrical needed to scale their workforce to build massive data centers, we delivered. When Green Mechanical was juggling four different systems across eight states, we consolidated everything into one platform.

Built on trust

Construction is a relationship business. You choose partners carefully because jobs are too complex and margins too thin to work with people who don’t have your back.

We know you have options so the fact that 1,000 of you chose Miter, means we’re doing something right, and we’ll continue working hard to earn your trust.
We’ll keep building features that solve real problems. We’ll keep showing up with the support you can count on. We’ll keep listening to understand how we can better serve you.

What’s next

We’re just getting started.

Next up: deeper integrations with the systems you already use, smarter automation that eliminates more manual work, and analytics that surface insights before they become issues.

If you’re one of our 1,000 customers: thank you. Everything we do starts with you.

If you’re someone who believes, like we do, that America’s contractors deserve better tools and that a better built world is possible if we empower the people doing the building, we hope you’ll follow along.

And if you’re a contractor considering Miter, we’d love to show you what we’ve built. Request a demo and see how Miter can help you build smarter, faster, and with confidence.

Let’s keep building together.
